Notes on Battery Disposal
As a retailer selling products with batteries or accumulators, we are obliged under the German Battery Act (BattG) to inform you about the proper disposal of batteries and accumulators.
Return and Disposal
Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of in household waste. You can hand in old batteries and accumulators free of charge at the following locations:
- Retailers (e.g., supermarkets, electronics stores)
- Municipal collection points and recycling centers
- To us as a mail-order retailer (please send with sufficient postage)
Meaning of the Symbols
Batteries and accumulators are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
Additionally, the following chemical symbols may be indicated on the battery:
- Cd – Cadmium
- Hg – Mercury
- Pb – Lead
These symbols indicate the presence of hazardous substances.

Further information on battery disposal can be obtained from the Federal Environment Agency or the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (ear).
