Window Tape VARIO, white, 1 SA, 25m is used for sealing window connection joints. Due to its variable Sd-value, this film can be used both indoors and outdoors. Application areas: Window and door sealing for indoor and outdoor use.

Installation instructions for Window Tape VARIO, white, 1 SA, 25m

• All profile openings, e.g., cut edges of extensions and window sill profiles, or continuous grooves in attached roller shutter boxes, must be sealed with sealant.
• The surfaces to be bonded on the frame and masonry must be clean and dry, free of dust, grease, and release agents (e.g., as found on new plastic profiles).
• The surface coating on wooden windows should be several days old, as any solvents still escaping could reduce tape adhesion. If necessary, dirt should be removed with degreasing cleaning agents. Attention must be paid to material compatibility.
• For highly absorbent, crumbling substrates, pretreat the building element with an adhesion promoter, e.g., DRG spray primer, DRG spray adhesive, or solvent-free primer.
• In case of breakouts in the masonry, a clean, smooth screed must be created again.
• During bonding, the tapes must be applied to the frame smoothly, parallel, and pressed down continuously. At the corners, allow the tapes to overlap and bond them to be rain-tight and airtight.
• Movement absorption must be ensured by sufficient loop formation in the area of the connection joint.
• Minimum adhesive width on the window 15 mm, on the wall at least 30 mm
• The sealing tape must be sufficiently bonded to the masonry in the area of the later plaster cover (rule of thumb: at least 75% of the contact surface).
